Your most frequent questions answered
In addition to holding the necessary qualifications in your profession, you’ll need to commit to passing your language exams and submitting all required documentation. We also expect you to:
- Fully commit to passing your B2 language exam and Qualification Recognition exam once you arrive in Germany.
- Stay with your employer for a minimum of two years after receiving your professional recognition.
During the qualification recognition period and until you pass the qualification exam and receive your professional certification, you will work in an assistant role. After obtaining the full certification, you’ll be able to change your visa type and officially work in your qualified profession with a new contract.
Most foreign professionals are allowed to work as assistants for a specific period upon arriving in Germany, while they prepare to pass their qualification exams. There are two key components: the B2 language exam and a skills exam relevant to your field. Germany prioritizes filling roles in high-demand professions, and we are committed to helping you successfully transition into your full professional role once in Germany.
Once you secure your full professional certification in Germany, you will initially stay on a work visa. After five years, you can apply for permanent residency, allowing you to make long-term professional and personal plans in Germany!
